We have received some feedback from our users pertaining to the difficulties in the process of punching a perfect button badge. Material from other sources without proper quality control may lead to this issue as well.
Defect issues:
In the punching process, the plastic mylar film feels a bit tight and is unable to wrap the top layer of the button badge nicely.
Defect Analysis:
Our technical team has carefully studied and analyzed the plastic mylar films, button badge machine, and mold condition and discovered an effective solution to overcome this issue. After a cycle of punches (~ 300–500 punches), the upper mould and bottom mould are exposed to friction, which leads to tight movement during the process of crimping the film together with the printed artwork.
Solution:
Apply or spray a lubricant on the outer area of both the top and bottom mould as pointed out in the picture below.
